Maldives transport

There are many convenient options for getting around once you have arrived in Maldives . Maldives has a public transportation system that, depending on your location, includes taxi cabs, buses, or other methods of public transportation. However, in most areas, including Male', you will not require any such transportation, as the island itself is not very large, and most of the places you will want to go are located in a relatively small radius. Most of the public transportation consists of ferries and air transport that allows visitors and locals alike to go from island to island.

During all 24 hours of the day, ferries are available to take visitors between the airport island and the capital of Male'. This means that no matter when you arrive, you will not be stuck on the airport island. It is important to note that this is the only way to get from the airport to the capital (and vice versa), as they are separated by water.

If you prefer, air transport is available between islands, if you want to explore more than one of the beautiful islands that Maldives has to offer. The Maldivian Air Taxi and Trans Maldivian Airways are just a couple of the affordable ways that you can hop from island to island and explore more of what the Maldives Islands have to offer.
