Reaching Maldives

Most major airlines provide flights to Maldives , either directly or with connecting flights, depending on where you are departing from. If you are coming from some countries, you may need to stop in another country and hop aboard a connecting flight to get to the Maldives Islands . Also, you will need to have a return ticket booked to get in to the country.

Maldives has five airports located within the country, including an international airport. This adds to the convenience of your stay in Maldives , especially if you have a preference of what area you would like to arrive at due to your plans during your stay. The airports of Maldives are located in Gan Island , Kaadedhdhoo, Male', Hanimaadhoo, and Kadhdhoo. Male' is the international airport. The other four airports are smaller, and are used primarily for those who desire fast transportation between islands.

You will want to have your passport or other necessary travel documents ready before you leave, of course. The Republic of Maldives does not require any kind of additional documentation. Also, all visitors receive a 30-day visa upon arrival in Maldives . This visa will not allow you to work in Maldives , but if you are arriving on business, you can conduct your business as planned. It should be noted that visitors are not allowed to bring dogs with them during their visit.

When you leave, you will also find that you have many options when it is time to bring your visit to Maldives to a close. Within the international airport in Male', you will find flights to a total of fourteen different countries. Again, you will have to have your return flight booked before you go to Maldives , so that you can be granted admittance to the country.
